Galactic Snackin' Grogu stretches the adorable look of Grogu into a fresh new style and play pattern direct from Season 2 of The Mandalorian.
As Design Lead, my responsibilities included defining a new style for the character, defining the play experience and accessories, player interactions and coordinating Licensor feedback into the hungriest Grogu in the galaxy!
The initial concept was a version of Grogu that captured his unique walk.
After receiving a content update from LFL we altered course and focused on the idea of Grogu eating his way through the galaxy.
LICENSOR DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
By coordinating with a cross functional team, we were able to create a great commercial for Galactic Snackin' Grogu while working remotely during Covid-19 lockdowns that limited accessibility to studio space and talent.
Tap Grogu on his head to see him react with unique Head and Arm movement and SFX. Tap his head 3 times to trigger Grogu's "force" animations. This was an easy for people to recreate this iconic and adorable moment from the entertainment on demand.
Grogu loves to be picked up and held! He will raise his hands and look up at you while making adorable sounds. His soft robe makes him great for cuddling! Special attention was needed to deliver the right material for the collar and body of the robe, with the best printing process for the look and feel we were trying to capture.
Each interactive accessory triggers different reactions from Grogu when put in his hands. See Grogu use the force when he holds his Shifter Ball or hear him spit up if you give him too many cookies! All of the accessories were pulled from some of the best moments in The Mandalorian!
